We start at 8:30 in the morning with a nice city tour through the center of San Francisco. We have seen the highlights of the city. The guide tells us a lot about the buildings we see. We drove by the Moscone Convention Center and around Union Square.
Also we have seen the famous Cable Cars on Powell Street. After that we drove to China Town Gate on Grant Ave. Here we had a photo stop.
Then we drove to North Beach where we had a photo stop at the City Lights Bookstore, Washington Square and St. Peter & Paul Church. Then we drove back to China Town on Stockton Street. Where we following our tour to the Civic Center, City Hall, Library and Asian Art Museum. Here we also stopped to see the City Hall from inside. This was very nice to see. Then we drove to Symphony Hall, War Memorial Opera where the UN was founded in 1946 and we make a short stop at Japan Center and St. Mary's Cathedral. This was a modern cathedral.
After that we went to Alamo Square, where we saw the victorian houses and drove through Haight Street the "Hippie Street" and later to Twin Peaks.
Where we had a beautiful view from San Francisco. Then we drove through the Golden Gate park and to the Cliff House and over the Golden Gate Bridge.
Here we had 2 stops to make pictures. One on the site of San Francisco where we had a nice view of the bridge. Then we drove over the bridge to the other site. At the end we finish at Fisherman's Wharf.
Bay Cruise
We had a very nice boat tour from pier 43 1/2. We went from the pier to the Golden Gate Bridge first with a beautiful view at the skyline of San Francisco on our left. It was quiet windy. After we sailed underneath the Golden Gate we sailed around Alcatraz and have a nice view at the Bay bridge. After the boat tour we had some time to explore San Francisco.
Night Tour
A very nice dinner at Fisherman's Wharf then followed by a little walk around the Pier 39 looking at shops. Drove over the Bay Bridge to Treasure Island to see the night skyline of San Francisco followed by a drive thru Castro the gay community all the way to the Twin Peaks for a very beautiful night view.
